Hazardous Waste Projects
Western’s scientists, technicians and specialty subcontractors have assessed accumulations and spills of hazardous waste on many locations. We have removed many types of hazardous waste to accomplish removal and cleanup projects. We have an established network of licensed contractors who can excavated, handle, transport and dispose of all types of hazardous waste.
We have planned and executed Voluntary cleanups with EPA and state agency approvals. To control costs, we have developed and employed new technologies and methods to treat hazardous waste on-site and drastically reduce transportation and waste disposal costs. Safety and control of site hazards and emissions is always of paramount concern.
Western personnel plan for the protection of site personnel, local residents, and site workers prior to beginning hazardous waste projects. Our personnel are certified for Hazardous Waste Operations in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and requirements. Western is expert in the selection and use of chemical protective equipment and safety monitoring. We assure that all permits, manifests and documents are obtained when removing, handling and disposing of hazardous waste.
Testing of surface soil, subsurface soil, water and waste is frequently performed by Western to document the extent and types of environmental contamination, or the progress of site cleanup projects. Sampling helps to fully define the extent of pollution which has been spilled and is migrating within the environment. Western personnel routinely drill soil test borings and install ground water wells for examination and testing. Western is performing long term performance and compliance testing at many oilfield, fuel tank systems and other cleanup locations.
