Soil, Water & Waste Testing
Our staff have had decades of experience in obtaining samples of surface soil, subsurface soil, ground water, surface water and unknown waste at hundreds of sites. We routinely obtain samples of waste for laboratory testing. Testing is usually performed to help determine if waste accumulations are hazardous, toxic or regulated solid waste streams. Once the waste is tested, Western ensures that the customer who owns the waste obtains all necessary permits to generate, store, move and dispose of the waste. Laboratory testing also helps to document contaminated areas of a location or facility.
Drill rigs are often used to obtain subsurface soil samples for testing. We obtain all samples using laboratory chain-of-custody documentation. Soil core samples are examined and described by Professional Geologists. We also use certified environmental testing laboratories to yield legally defensible analytical data reports. Our personnel are expert at acquiring the proper test samples and in ensuring data quality is acceptable for the purposes intended.
The testing is usually performed to determine where a release of contamination has occurred and also to document the extent of a spill in soil and ground water underlying a property or facility. Fully defining an environmental release is necessary to more accurately estimate cleanup costs or to engineer site specific environmental cleanup systems. Western personnel are expert at designing, installing, operating, and maintaining systems to restore soil and ground water quality.
